- Background
- Like many Bajorans, Mora has a deep hatred and resentment for the Cardassians that
enslaved her race and raped her planet bare. During the occupation she worked in various
labor camps until she was selected for a series of Cardassian experiments. To date no one,
aside from Mora and the Cardassians, know what transpired but she underwent horrific
physical and mental torture, her body tampered with on a genetic level. She struggled long
after the Cardassians left to regain some semblance of herself and her sanity, pulling
from within herself to gain strength. Deciding that the discipline and rigors of Starfleet
appealed to her she enlisted and joined the ranks of the Security branch.
Mora's training marked her as a promising officer and her
background made her suitable for a special Starfleet project. Out of the academy, unknown,
she was afforded training for a covert operation to infiltrate a newly-formed threat near
the Cardassian/UFP DMZ: a secret group known as the "Maquis." Working under deep
cover Mora successfully infiltrated the organization and returned some of the first hard
intelligence known about the group. What she didn't mention was her attraction to their
ideals and her longing to help their cause. Seeing the potential conflict and decision she
might have to make one day, Mora requested reassignment and left the Maquis back to
traditional Starfleet duty. Or did she?
- Personality and Appearance
- Mora is fountain of passion and energy hidden underneath a thick veneer of cool
toughness. She is the Starfleet poster-child of what an officer should be: quick,
efficient, loyal, dedicated, and precise. Mora snaps to attention, announces the presence
of a senior officer in the room and basically "follows the book" to the letter.
Underneath however, she is in constant turmoil within herself regarding her tumultuous
past and constant desire for revenge. In nearly all situations treat her as an officer
calm in the most stressful situation, unwavering and fearless, cold and calculating. When
entering into personal combat her control falters, her passion and hatred is released, her
Bloodlust and instincts take control. In those situations she is a fearsome adversary and
may go too far. Her hatred of Cardassians is tremendous, even among Bajorans. It would be
uncharacteristic for her not to attack, if not outright kill, any Cardassians she
encounters.
Unlike many Bajorans who make no secret of their dislike for
Cardassians, Mora is quiet and calm, never discussing the events of her past.

- Author's Notes
- I know, I know. You read one Bajoran character background and you've read them all:
hate Cardassians, some kind of emotional problems, quick-tempered, etc. Truth be told I
created Cless prior to the launch of "DS9" many years ago in my FASA-Trek
campaign set during TNG. I've dusted her off, brought her up to speed, and made her for my
new LUGTrek game. She's fun to play (for the Narrator) and it is sweet torture to hold so
much back about her. Calm, cool, collected and the perfect officer. Then she gets into a
fight and WHAM! Play up or down her Maquis involvement as much as you'd like to fit within
your campaign, perhaps as a double or triple-agent.
