- Mohamet Gurdja was born on Earth in southern Asia, and grew up hanging around his uncle's workshop, tinkering with shuttles and air-cars.
During his training, he participated in a training exercise in Sector 595A. His first tour of duty was with the 15th Rapid Response Division, servicing combat hoppers.
On his second tour, as a shuttle maintenance technician on the USS Klaatu during the Dominion War, one of the shuttles he was responsible for crashed, killing all aboard. An investigation determined that the cause was sabotage, and Gurdja was cleared of any responsibility for the deaths, but he feels that he should have been able to prevent the incident.
