Aquaal Leiliri spent a normal childhood on Halii, with a mild interest in the sciences and a keen interest in exploring the Galaxy. She joined Starfleet at age 18, majoring in Biosciences and taking an intensive study programme in theoretical sciences. She spent her Cadet Cruise on the USS Al-Batani, an Excelsior Class starship. Her first full tour saw her spend 4 years on the Ambassador Class Heavy Cruiser USS Bengal as part of an extended science mission in the Galilei Sector.

She is a bit shy around people she doesn't know, but warms to co-workers quickly. She is a vegetarian by inclination, but not fanatically so. She is an accomplished vocalist, singing along to recordings of a wide range of music from a variety of worlds.
