- CPO O'Grady comes from Finagle's World, an early Earth colony settled by nonconformists, mostly of Irish extraction. His father was an engineering specialist on the USS Trieste, and Sean decided that life in Starfleet was to his liking.
He spent his first tour on the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, prior to its commissioning in early 2364. His second tour was spent on the USS Nelson during the closing years of the Cardassian War. The next four years were spent on the USS Provider, a convoy Escort, accompanying Merchant Service ships on their routes. His last tour was on the USS Balaclava during the hostilities with the Klingon Empire and the Dominion War. After the horrors of war, he's looking forward to some peace and quiet at Dyson Base.

- Short, stout and always ready to make new friends, Sean is a likeable rogue. He's fond of Irish folk music, whisky and rare steaks. He is a regular at Sarah Parker's weekly barbecues.
