- As a child, Theron kicked about the Federation on various Starbases - his parents were all Starfleet officers. Theron enjoyed the Starfleet life and was fascinated by the nearly-living "organism" that makes up space station. His best friend is William Bergere, an engineer on the USS Mjolnir NCC-70101, a Sabre Class starship patroling the Dobhran Sector. He and Will gained a rival in Scott Forbin while one of Theron's mothers was stationed on Earth's Spacedock.
At age 17, Theron entered Starfleet Academy with the express intent of becoming a Starbase operations officer, holding the lives of hundreds in his hand. He spent his Cadet Cruise on the USS Trieste, during which he was involved in an Away Mission to Tresca III. An accident while on the mission crushed his left knee. While the joint was completely rebuilt, he still suffers constant pain and walks with a slight limp. His level-headedness, however, allowed him to save the lives of two fellow officers even though his injuries were crippling, and he was promoted to Lieutenant (jg).
His first tour of duty was spent on Starbase 21 where he was reunited with his old rival, Scott Forbin. On the up-side, he renewed his friendship with Will Bergere, whose ship was assigned to the same sector. It was through Will that he found out about Dyson Base and immediately volunteered for duty there.

- Theron is tall and slender, and very dark-skinned for an Andorian. He is friendly, but is sometimes regarded as stand-offish since he would far rather study all the available information on the Sphere than socialise. He regards the Sphere as the largest space station in existance and is determined to find out all its secrets in order to apply them to Federation space station design.
