  The Orion Merchant Ship OMS Kamerain was featured in Last Unicorn Games adventure module A Fragile Peace chapter 2 Aiding and Abetting. Commanded by Captain Mullio Smug, an Orion trader, the ship is described as small, looking quite dingey and seedy on the outside, showing its been though 20-odd years of hard use, but it unusually luxurious inside. Orions like their luxuries. While no class or statistics were given for the vessel, a perspective view, and exterior plan view and several small location deckplans were supplied, allowing a good idea of what the ship looked like. The perspective drawing was reprinted in the DS9 supplement Raiders, Renegades and Rogues under the Abraxas class Mercenary Corvette entry, but the stats given for the Abraxas class do not fit the description for the Kamerain, so it's just a case of using whatever art was to hand. Scaling from the details in the location plans (notably the beds in the sickbay), the ship appears to be about 158 metres, with at least 2 decks. There is a formation at the front that looks like a shock absorbtion system, so I put a large cargo airlock there. At the aft is an exposed set of coils, which I decided was the Warp nacelle. In addition to the areas shown, I added two small holosuites, a lounge, crew facilities and other details. I decided that it would be lightly armed, with a pair of forward-mounted Phaser 6's. |
