Recce Team 42 is sited in central Nova Scotia, in King's County, overlooking the town of Kingston, and the Canadian Air Force Base at Greenwood. It is in a heavily wooded area on the North Mountain, with a view of the Annapolis Valley. Nearby is the WNSR "D" Coy. Armoury in Middleton, and the Militia training base Camp Aldershot at Kentville.

At the interchange between Highway 101 and Maple Street is a decrepit Airbus A-320 ailiner in Air Canada livery. It has not crashed, but seems to have landed on the highway, perhaps because the glass crater at CFB Greenwood prevented it from using the airstrip there. The last 150 years have not been kind. Several large holes have rotted away in the fuselage, and the wings and landing gear have collapsed. Several small animals, such as foxes and coyotes have set up dens in the seats.
