 The Chameleon Class is an uprated version of an even older vessel. The Lucas is well over 100 years old, and the exterior shows it. Dimly visible on its hull is the previous owner's corporate name. Numerous patches and many scars are visible on the hull plating. The ship has been modified, the old landing outriggers having been removed and pads installed on the ship's ventral surface. During a refit some time in the ship's past, the Warp nacelle and pylons have been moved forward about 10 metres, a very common modification as it increased warp efficiency by 8.5%. 95% of all Chameleons have been refitted in this manner. Inside, the ship is quite different from its exterior decrepitude. It is clean and well-maintained. The owner's cabin (formerly the captain's cabin) has been completely refurbished in extreme luxury, if in somewhat garish taste. The other cabins are more plainly decorated. Major Norton's cabin is austere, the only decoration being a selection of military patches and a large number of weapons, ranging from knives to firearms to energy weapons. |
