 The Indomitable Class is one of Starfleet's newest Battlecruisers. At 411.55 metres in length, 170.25 metres wide and a draught of 70.5 metres; it is midway between the venerable Constitution class Heavy Cruiser and the newer Excelsior class Exploratory Cruiser. It is armed with 26 Type VIII Phasers in 13 twin mounts and three photon torpedo launchers. It has a crew of 580. Known ships include USS Indomitable (NCC-2020), USS Incontestable (NCC-2021), USS Indefatigable (NCC-2022), USS Dauntless (NCC-2023) and USS Discovery (NCC-2024). The Battlecruiser USS Discovery, NCC-2024 is under orders to patrol the Kellinan Reach, protecting the Federation colonies fron the predations of the Hakon, Ateni and Akashan. It replaces the USS Indefatigable (NCC-2022).
