- Subject Farl is a member of the Finari, who claim to be the "Sons of the Grandfather," the chosen heirs of the immensely powerful being who created the Dyson Sphere. They claim that the entity called Möbius is a being chosen by the Grandfather as an assistant, who murdered the Grandfather and usurped his position; and is responsible for the corruption and deletion of files in the Sphere Computer. According to Farl, the Finari came to the Sphere from a series of "bubble universes" created by the Grandfather through a dimensional portal to stop Möbius from destroying the Sphere. Farl asserts that the androids who attacked Dyson Base are controlled by Möbius.

- Farl is a short humanoid standing approximately 1.4m tall, with a gracile build and long arms. He has an enlarged cranium and large black eyes, a very small nose and ears, and thin lips. He is completely hairless and covered with microscales. His green skin has the texture of a small reptile, soft and warm with a somewhat leathery feel.
Farl wears a skin tight dark grey bodysuit, with an equipment belt bearing a holster for a large energy sidearm, and a golden diadem which appears to be a sort of mechanical antipsionic jamming device.
