Background
Early Life: Failed Colony (Colia III)
Academy Life: Intensive Theoretical Science Programme
Cadet Cruise: Famous Incident
Tours of Duty: Dyson Base (first Tour)

Gharruf grew up on the colony world of Colia III, a colony which was nearly wiped out when treaty negotiations left it cut off from Federation trade lanes. Gharruf blames the failure of the colony and the near-starvation of his family on what he regards as a stiff-necked hide-bound reactionary bureaucracy. A life-long interest in the sciences led him to a career in Starfleet. Indeed, while on his cadet cruise he was one of the team that developed the drug Taskaline, which cured a plague on Vektris IV.
