Background
Early Life: Barbarian

K'Tahl and his twin sister K'Vahl are the firstborn children of K'Tokh, a direct descenant of the XO of the IKV BortaS. They have been raised as nobles in the Klingon-held territories surrounding the Command Boom of the BortaS. They were captured several months ago and held in the Gamma One tower until rescued by the crew of the Runabout USS Lena.

The IKV BortaS was a Klingon D-7 Battlecruiser famed in legend and the basis for the Klingon holonovel series Battlecruiser Vengeance. It was lost after a raid on Romulus about 125 years ago. Seriously damaged by Roluman Birds of Prey, the BortaS ejected the Command Boom, which was drawn into the Sphere when it scanned the surface. The Boom crash-landed on the inner surface and the surviving Klingons carved out a small Empire. Since the BortaS Klingons were isolated in the Sphere, they never were exposed to the agent which caused the physical reversion of the Klingon species to their original appearance.

K'Tahl, son of K'Tohk, is an Original Series smooth-headed Klingon youth. At 7 years of age, he is equivalent to a 17-year old Human. A typical Klingon youth, he is rash and impulsive, given to acting without thinking. He is suspicious of the Federation crew at Dyson Base, and in awe of the Klingon emissary, Klaang.
