The main installation of Dyson Base is situated on Freeman's Island in the northern hemisphere of the Dyson Sphere, near Portal N1. It serves as a base from which the exploration of the Dyson Sphere is conducted. It provides quarters for the runabout crews and support staff, laboratory space, and resupply and maintenance facilities for the runabouts and shuttlecraft.

The Freeman's Island installation was severely damaged in the attack of SD 52850, and is in the process of being upgraded.

Outposts 2 through 3 are similar to the original layout of the main facility on Freeman's Island

Several Duck Blinds, small concealed observation platforms, are spotted throughout the Sphere.
