The island is a semitropical paradise, with four beaches named after famous resort locations on Earth. Three landmarks on the island, Freeman's Point, Scott's Peak and Lake Picard, are named in commemoration of the discoverers of the Sphere.

The crew of Dyson Base have discovered a concealed entrance to a maintenance tunnel on Scott's Peak.
