Background Notes:
Early Life History: Normal Upbringing

In many ways, Kochanski's story is similar to that of Lister. In her universe, she was put in stasis for hiding Lister's cat, Frankenstein. She survived the deaths of the crew, and when she was let out after the radiation had died down, the now-senile Holly gave her a Holographic version of Lister. Not long after the Red Dwarf got separated from Starbug 1, a cosmic shift connected the two universes and she was trapped in thgis universe. For some time, she and Kryten had a tiff going on, but they have since mended fences.

The Kochanski with whom Lister was infatuated with was definitely this Christine Kochanski. Where that Christine was somewhat tom-boyish and, er, randy, this Christine is altogether feminine and slightly repressed.
