Qo'noS is a large, green. Class M planet, usually just known as the Homeworld (juHyuQ). It is from the Great Hall (vaS'a') in the Imperial Capital City (monwo'veng'a') on the Homeworld that the Emperor and High Council rule the Klingon Empire.

The Great Hall of Qo'noS

In 2292, Qo'noS was nearly devastated when Praxis (praQIs), a moon which housed the systems primary power generation station, exploded, contaminating the atmosphere. Without Fedration technological assistance, Qo'noS would have ceased to be inhabitable by 2340, as the Klingon Empire had sunk all its resources into military development. This assistance was the cornerstone of the Federation/Klingon alliance of 2345.
