Federation Scout Service uniforms are similar to the old UESPA Starfleet coveralls. They are a unisex design made from a blue denim-like material. There are no Branch or rank insignia, as the Scout Service has neither Branches or ranks. A variety of variant uniforms are available for different tasks and environments.

The Scout Service insignia is incorporated into the commbadge and is worn on the left breast. The Scout Service patch is worn on the left shoulder.

The Scout Service uses the same type of Duckblind as Starfleet for covert observstion of indigenous species.

The Scout Service is issued much of the same equipment as Starfleet, with the exception of most weapons. Scouts are issued older phaser 1's hard-locked to base stun cycle. If heavier weapons are required, they may be issued at the Mission Commanders' discretion.

The Scout Service uses a variety of small ships, including Danube class Runabouts, Talon class Scouts and Nova class Planetary Surveyors. Most of these are ex-Starfleet ships. They bear "NSP" registries and the prefix "FSS" before the ship's name.
