 Deck Two is basically a ring about the central core areas of Decks One and Three. Stairwells lead up and down from the central ring corridor to Decks One and Three. The portside and starboard areas are taken up by crew cabins. The CO's cabin is on the atarboard side immediately opposite the stairwell. Only the CO has a private cabin&mdash:all others are double cabins. The junior-most officer, usually an Ensign on his first tour of duty, shares a cabin with the ship's Bosun, typically a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Forward is the ship's Shuttle bay, which holds two Type 5 shuttlecraft. It is a small space, with little in the way of facilities for repair, and the basic for maintenance. Flanking the Shuttle bay are the Transporter Room and Sickbay to the portside and starboard, respectively. Aft are the ship's Main Engineering spaces. |
