![]() ![]() The Space Cruiser Aurora appeared in the original Star Trek's third season episode The Way to Eden. It was basically a copy of the Tholian web-spinner reversed with a pair of nacelles flanking it. Some fans speculate that the nacelles and pylons were taken from AMT models of the USS Enterprise and Klingon D7, but examination of photos of the original model reveal that this is not so. The model of the Aurora was too small for this, and the details of the nacelles are completely wrong. The nacelles are made from pieces of dowel with ribs added, and the pylons are simple pieces of sheet metal bent to shape. The dowels used for the nacelles have blue glass domes on the front, possibly the same as those used for buttons on consoles in the sets. The iridescent triangles on the Tholian ships (and the Aurora) are raised on the model, though I have chosen to represent them as recessed to further differentiate the Aurora from the web-spinner.
