Way back in the dim reaches of time before FASA Corp got the licence for their Star Trek RPG, it was a small company which did licenced deck plans and adventures for GDW's Traveller® RPG. These were of very high quality, especially the deck plans—curious given their wretched deck plans once they were doing it as an independent company. One can only assume that GDW kept a tighter hand on the reins of their licences than did Paramount Pictures Corporation, then the owner of the Star Trek brand and maker of the movies and TV shows.

One of these sets of plans was the ISCV King Richard of Phoenix Enterprises Limited. It was a huge set of plans done to 15mm scale on sturdy white paper, allowing for the use of miniature figures in play. Also available was the companion adventure Action Aboard, which detailed 10 crew members and 19 NPC passengers, along with a page of outline plans showing the atmospheric circulation ducts.

Action Aboard also gave several scenarios for play: Hijack, both internal and external; Bomb Aboard; Plague; Lost; Crash; Robbery Aboard; Equipment Failure Aboard; Cheating Ring; Collision with space debris or another Starship; Mutiny; Guides; and Oddities—an invasion of religious fanatics with Psionic powers. Most of these scenrios were two-for-one deals, with options for the players to be either crew or passengers (In one game a GM friend of mine in Halifax ran all of the scenarios at once, much to the confusion of the players.)
