  The 100 dTon Type 'S', or Suleiman class Scout/Courier is the iconic Traveller ship, used by many player characters—perhaps more than any other. From Traveller's earliest days, it was available to characters as a mustering-out benefit, and has appeared in many Classic Traveller adventures. It is small, displacing only 100 tons, and can be crewed by as little as one person. It can be armed with a single turret containing as may as three weapons in a variety of configurations and has space for a small air/raft. There are many variants of the ship, such as the Seeker prospecting scout popular with Belt miners. It is used by both the Imperial Navy and The Imperial Interstellar Scout Service as a small scout or a courier. It can be found literally anywhere in the 5th Imperium and surrounding space empires, and is used by most races. Its standard design is an arrowhead, three decks high, and is capable of planetfall, being able to land in almost any clear level area. It can carry upwards of six persons, depending on the internal layout. In some older models, the air recirculating system is less than completely inefficient, causing the ship to smell of dirty socks and lubricant. It is a true workhorse, though, being almost indestructible in ordinary circumstances.
